How to Make Payment?
We accept most dental plans in our office. As a courtesy, our office will assist you with the benefit claims. On the day of dental service, the annual deductible and estimated co-pay (as decided by your dental benefit carrier) will be collected from you. Any amount that is not covered by your benefit will be billed to you after we receive all payments from the benefit carrier. We accept Visa, Master Card, personal checks and money order for payment.
I.V. Sedation / General Anesthesia
For patients who receive dental treatment under I. V. sedation or general anesthesia, there will be a separate fee that you pay directly to the anesthesiologist on the day of anesthesia. We will collect the full amount for dental treatment on the same day of service. In most cases, parents will receive reimbursement from the dental benefit carrier within a month or two.
Out-of-Pocket Fees
Please note that even for the same dental procedure, all dental benefit plans differ in their fee schedule and the amount of coverage. It ranges from 0% coverage by one carrier to 100% coverage by another. In addition, all dental benefits have different annual maximal allowable coverage and annual deductible. Unlike medical insurance, it is extremely difficult for dental offices to have the exact estimate on patent's out-of-pocket expense before treatment. After the dental appointment, we submit the claim to your benefit carrier on your behalf. On the claim form that we submit, we use the codes that have been decided by the ADA, which are uniform in the entire nation, to indicate the type of dental services that have been provided. The dental benefit carrier will then decide your out-of-pocket fee and send you an EOB (Explanation of Benefits) to inform you. In spite of the difficulties said above, our billing staff are always doing their best to obtain the most information from your dental benefit carrier, so that you can make a comfortable decision about your child's treatment.
